ABOUT US

Niigata University Faculty of Dentistry was established in 1965 as the third-oldest national dental school in Japan. Division of Oral Biochemistry is one of the four oldest departments in the dental school together with Oral Anatomy T, Oral Physiology and Oral Pathology. I serve as a third-generation professor since August 2016. My mission is to provide our students with an exceptional educational experience that allows students to fulfill their potential and to develop the fundamental knowledge to address both biological and medical challenges.

As of June 2021, our group consist of 4 staff members (Professor 1, Associate Professor 1, Assistant Professor 2), 2 graduate students and 2 undergraduate students. The laboratory is located at the 3rd floor of the Building E in the Faculty of Dentistry. In an open concept laboratory, members share bench space and equipment. Open office space is suitable for people to share ideas and discuss about the research projects. We always welcome students interested in any areas of our research, and we are happy to discuss about scholarships and external funding opportunities. Please check out our research projects on this website.
